This 4′ piece of sculpture, made of cedar, copper, and copper gilding by Tom Rudd, went to the Pacific Northwest and was auctioned as part of a fund raiser for the Fishers Memorial on the Columbia River. The memorial is under tribal leadership and a group of Warm Springs, Yakama, Umatilla, and Nez Perce artists This initial fundraising event raised over $8000 as seed money to start the $80,000 project.
One more recent painting. We’ve lived here for 7+ years, and I did not realize there was a statue of a owl on this building until recently. And I’ve driven by it hundreds of times!
Here’s the print we made of the red building, which I mentioned in the last post:
I’ve painted this Calumet building several times, and Tom and I made a print of it as well. The building is in sad shape, but so beautiful to look at. I heard a rumor that it will be torn down soon…maybe we can come up with one more image before it’s gone.
Another recent painting from Margo’s show in September:
One of Margo’s recent paintings, from her one-person show at the Galerie Boheme, September 2014. Oil on panel, 12″ x 12″, $390.
